Mission Statement
Canadian Council Of Professional Engineers
To establish and maintain a common bond between engineering's licensing bodies and assist them to meet their common needs and those of their members by co-ordinating standards, procedures and programs across Canada, by representing the engineering profession with respect to national and international affairs and, generally, by increasing the profile and prestige of the engineering profession.
Engineers Canada Mandate*
On behalf of engineering's licensing bodies, to provide national support and leadership to the engineering profession in Canada by:
- Enhancing the public image of the engineering profession in Canada and promoting its interests;
- Fostering strong, effective and ongoing relationships with engineering's licensing bodies;
- Supporting the licensing bodies' efforts to achieve interprovincial/territorial consistency in their licensing and regulatory practices, and interprovincial/territorial practice mobility for licensed engineers;
- Promoting high standards of engineering practice and education in Canada;
- Building greater public awareness of engineering and how the work of Canada's engineers benefits society;
- Acting as the national and international voice of engineering's licensing bodies, and representing them on the national and international stage;
- Protecting, through the acquisition of official marks, the terms, titles, images and words that are integral to the regulatory and licensing functions of its members;
- Entering into national and international agreements that further the ability of engineering's licensing bodies to achieve their regulatory functions.
